Family Camp, Sand Springs

How I wish I could invite the whole world to our Family Camp!

If you read this blog and you are not too far in the world, you are welcome to attend our family camp. It will bring so much joy to us.

Gideon with some children
Gideon Jacobs and some children at Prayer Mountain, Sand Springs.

Gideon Jacobs, Missionary to Malawi, will be our main speaker, and his son-in-law, Eli Celic, and Peet Botha will take the rest of the sessions, Lord-willing. Gideon will surely show us a video and photos of his work in Malawi and tell us about the great and mighty things God is busy doing in that area where people were predominantly Muslim. But now they are turning to Jesus, who help them in their need. It is amazing what is happening in that area where the Gospel is now being preached.

The camp will take place at Prayer Mountain,
5500 S 209th W Ave, Sand Springs, OK, 74063

Camp Theme:
Psalms 40:2 “He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.”

Sometimes

Sometimes in ministry things look so hopeless and void of life. Then God give encouragement through various means. This morning I read what Jim Elliot wrote in his diary – “I think God is to be glorified in our asking the impossible from Him.”

I recommend the book Shadow of the Almighty, by Elizabeth Elliot, to every believer.  It gives the account of the unusual and elevated spiritual experience of her missionary husband, Jim Elliot and four other missionaries to the Auca Indians of Ecuador. This book will inspire all who read it to nobler living before the face of Him who died for us on the Cross.

The Lord hath prepared His throne in the heavens; and His kingdom ruleth over all – Ps 103:19. Yes, even the blast of east wind that defiant and pitiless, fierce and withering sending a cloud of dust before it. How can we complain? It is He Who rules over all that also keep the key of the winds! Knows He not the best?! It is not safe for us to complain. Our only safety in everything is to love and trust, to obey and praise the Lord.
