The books in VOM’s Courageous Series highlight the lives of faithful Christians throughout history, sharing how they boldly proclaimed Christ despite persecution. Your children or grandchildren will learn from the examples of the Apostle Paul, a former persecutor of Christians; Stephen, Christianity’s first martyr; and Thomas, who overcame his doubts to proclaim Jesus’ resurrection for the remainder of his life.

This book set also includes the stories of three other well-known Christians, though maybe not the stories you’ve heard before. Nicholas, Patrick and Valentine were dedicated men whose faith directed their actions, and their stories will inspire your children to be just as bold for Jesus.

Each of these books (hardcover, 8.75 by 8.75 in.) will become a treasured story that your children can share with friends. And you can order the six-book set for $30.

Paul: God’s Courageous Apostle
Thomas: God’s Courageous Missionary
Valentine: God’s Courageous Evangelist
Stephen: God’s Courageous Witness
Patrick: God’s Courageous Captive

Shower your children with parental love, not things (Part 1)

We live in a fast-paced age, and I am wondering about the many things going wrong in our families and society. There is a groaning, an agony, in my heart to cry out to all humanity: Soak your children in love! Bind them to yourself with parental love, not things! Baptise them in the Word of God and lead them in the fear of the Lord by your own godly example! I don’t speak about a long-faced, no fun parent, laying down hard rules and laws! No! Ask God to teach you how to bring life to your children, even living in holiness before Him. Never forget, God lives among the praises of His people. Let there be clean joy and fun and praise the Lord always through a life of gratitude and thanksgiving.

You may think you stand watch at the door and protect, but the enemy finds a way through the roof. Literally through the roof – it’s called internet! There is no place you can take your child to, and much much more, which he or she cannot see on the internet, and that, by traveling alone, without your protection! Even pre-school children are very intelligent with cell phones and tablets. I overheard a little boy bragging to his granny, quite a young, intelligent grandma by that, that he figured out the password of her cell phone! I was astonished! I see them in homes lying on couches staring at the screens while the mother or the caregiver is busy somewhere else.

Know this, there is a battle for the mind of your children, and if we do not live according to God’s Word and commands, being protected by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit, we will find our own way and go far astray. And the end might be the same than the five unwise virgins we read of in Matthew 25:1-13

Dear parent, make sure you spend quality time with your children. Walk this life with your children, and walk with destiny.

Just look at Isaiah 63:7-10, what a God our God is for those who reverently walk before Him:

The Lord’s Mercy Remembered – Isaiah 63:7-10
I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
and the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
For he said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely.
And he became their Savior.
In all their affliction he was afflicted,
and the angel of his presence saved them;
in his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit;
therefore he turned to be their enemy,
and himself fought against them.

May we be on the Lord’s side, live with gratitude and praises before Him, and be blessed!
