When Nothing Make Sense
I hear and read God’s Word and am so blessed and strengthened by it. How often I feel to shout it out to the whole world! Here is such a moment:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.”(Proverbs 3:5)
Oh my, it is so easy to say it when there is no real problem. Trust the Lord! And that with your ALL your heart! How difficult it can be when your life suddenly turns into turmoil and a “storm” rages over you, that for days or weeks on end there is just no sign of relief! When nothing makes sense! Your mind goes around in circles and you have to fight against confusion and bitterness.
We so often try to figure out the happenings in our lives – in our business, finance, marriage, family and even our church! We look at things and they just don’t make sense! The pace of modern life is intense, and when there is a change, we just don’t understand.
But God has a different perspective. He says “…do not lean on your own understanding.”
His ways are not our ways; His thoughts not our thoughts. We need to understand that we cannot understand all His ways. He is the sovereign God. But to obey His instruction to “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and not lean on your own understanding” will work longlasting success and unimaginable peace.
Often, just as I think now I understand my Lord, things change and my trust is tested once again.
Oh Lord, You are God. I am so human – made of dust. Have Thine own way, Lord. I do not have to understand now. Help me to put my mind to it that You are in perfect control, and I need not fear or fret.
